About this Role
As a QA Tester at Bible Project, you will work to ensure the quality of our software products while working closely with both Product, Media, and Engineering teams. You will be evaluating requirements, identifying bugs, and reporting release quality in an agile environment. You will get to be a part of a cross-functional team that is passionate about building quality products. They will depend on you to ensure the standards of excellence for the product are being met. To be successful, you will need to be a self-starter capable of managing and prioritizing your own work, have the ability to understand technical architecture as presented to you by engineers, and effectively communicate technical concepts, both to other technical team members and non-technical audiences.

What You’ll Be Doing
Collaborate closely with Engineers, Designers, and Product Leads to understand what we’re building
Test newly developed features for one or more technology product(s)
Evaluate new content releases within products to ensure a quality user experience
Communicate scope of self discovered or user reported bugs to engineers
Determine if a software version is up to quality standards, giving the Product Lead a recommendation as to whether it is a candidate for public release
Enhance and expand the QA workflow and process by recommending the best tools for evaluating quality in web-based products
What We’re Looking For
Experience in the software field, either as a developer or tester
Proficiency in the following skills:
Basic proficiency in automated testing
Working proficiency in finding the root cause of an issue
Working proficiency in understanding software architecture and code principles
Advanced proficiency in writing bug reports
Advanced proficiency in reproducing bug reports
Advanced proficiency in manual testing of websites
Knowledge of and experience with web development
Experience implementing new QA processes and testing methods
Familiarity with web accessibility requirements
Experience with web-specific testing tools and software stacks
General knowledge of software user experience best practices
Experience using issue tracking systems, like Jira
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, on both technical and administrative topics
Meticulous attention to detail

Location: This role must be performed within the United States. Occasional travel to Portland, Oregon.

Compensation & Benefits:
The compensation range for this role is $72,000 - $85,000 considering 2-8 years of directly related experience
Competitive salary that scales with experience directly related to this role. Top tier in non-profit market but will not match top technology companies
